Celebrate dad with a great gift. We’ve collected a few options that have been great gifts to dads in our lives.
For some other options, also take a look at the Gift Ideas for a Woodworker and the Gift Ideas for a handyperson articles.
Under $25
Yes, that is the price per sock. These socks are expensive, but they are the best socks you will ever wear. I’ve had Darn Tough socks for years and they do not wear out. If they do wear out, these socks have a lifetime warranty and will be replaced for free.
Darn Tough also make some low-cut socks as well. The Light Hiker version are the cut that are the most comfortable to me personally.
The Bora Bora Booney is a fantastic sun hat. It may not look the best, but provides great sun protection. If your dad is going to the beach or spends time in the yard, this is a great option.
You’re probably familiar with the wire brush style grill brushes. Those are the default and you see them everywhere.
There are stories about the tiny wires from those brushes coming off, sticking to the grill, and ending up in food. It can be really bad news if you eat those. Since reading about that, I switched to this type of grill cleaner.
It’s a block of wood. As you clean the grill, indentations form in the wood that match your grill grates and it cleans the grill pretty well. The wire brushes work a bit better, but this is so much safer.
Under $100
This is an excellent portable speaker. It’s pretty small but makes impressive sound. The battery life lasts for a long time and the speaker is water resistant. This is a great gift for someone that spends time outside or is going to the beach.
Over $100
This is the coolest lego kit I have ever seen. It’s over 3 feet tall when assembled and has an impressive level of detail. This is the rocket that first brought humans to the moon. The kit includes multiple, detachable rocket stages, separate modules like the real thing, and a display stand. If you think there’s any chance the dad you’re shopping for would like this, get it. It’ll blow them away.
The Kindle is a great E-Reader option for the dad that likes to read books. For me personally, I really like physical books, but I LOVE my Kindle. Many libraries allow you to check out digital books online that you can read on your kindle. You don’t have to go to the library and you can have books delivered to your kindle for free. Unbeatable.
Dad’s fix things. To fix things, they need tools and this is a great multitool.
Leatherman is a classic and highly-regarded multitool brand. The Leatherman FREE series is their rethink of the multitool. This series is so great because you can open the tools with one hand. That may not sound like a big deal, but it makes using this tool so much easier and you will use it more often.
The Free P4 includes many tools including a knife, pliers, bottle opener, screw drivers, scissors, and more. There are 21 tools in total.
There is a belt clip built in and the tool includes a sheath that attaches to your belt as well. This is expensive, but I highly recommend it for someone that fixes things around the house. This tool will last forever.
Yea, that’s right. This is not a thing, this is an experience.
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic RiderCourse is a 2 day course that’s usually on Saturday and Sunday. There are courses offered all over the USA. You spend a little time in the classroom, but for most of the course, you are outside riding a motorcycle in a controlled area.
This is a great gift because it will give the dad in your life a new experience in a safe environment. The dad may find that they like motorcycles or they may not. Either way, they now have that experience in their life and it is an amazing one.
At the end of this course, you have a waiver to get your motorcycle license (if you want it). The course also counts as a driver safety course and might give you a discount on your normal car insurance. This course will make you a better driver of a car too.
